Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken Pasta

Cook the Chicken:
Season the chicken strips with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken strips and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
Cook the Pasta:
Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce:
In the same skillet used for the chicken, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Stir in the diced tomatoes, heavy cream, and chicken broth. Bring to a simmer.
Add the grated Parmesan cheese, dried basil, and dried oregano. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is well combined.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve:
Add the cooked penne pasta and chicken strips back to the skillet. Stir until everything is well coated with the sauce and heated through.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
